Vital information, support and free mentoring will be available to small business operators in Mooroolbark, when the Victorian Government’s Mobile Business Centre visits on Tuesday, 15 April 2014.

The Mobile Business Centre includes information about Small Business Victoria’s year-round services, including low-cost seminars, workshops and programs. There is also extensive literature on board about planning, starting and growing a business, with information on everything from registering for taxation to formulating a business plan.

Local MP David Hodgett said the Mobile Business Centre would continue to be an important part of the Victorian Coalition Government’s commitment to improving productivity, encouraging innovation and providing a fair and competitive small business environment.

“Expert advice is provided by a pool of volunteers from the Small Business Mentoring Service,” Mr Hodgett said.

“These mentors have extensive experience either running their own small business or working in senior management in business. Their skillsets include marketing, finance, human resources and sales.”

Minister for Small Business Russell Northe said the Mobile Business Centre will offer small business operators in Mooroolbark access to information and advice and reflect the Victorian Coalition Government’s support for an increasingly robust and innovative small business sector.

Mr Northe said there are more than 520,000 small businesses in Victoria and they represent 96 per cent of the state’s businesses.

“Last year the Mobile Business Centre visited more than 103 towns and suburbs across Victoria and its mentors delivered more than 745 mentoring sessions to small businesses,” Mr Northe said.

“Through the Mobile Business Centre, the Victorian Coalition Government is providing face-to-face, low cost and expert help to those at the coalface of the Victorian economy.”

The Mobile Business Centre will be located in the Coles car park, 63 – 89 Brice Avenue, between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday, 15 April.
